Short Recap ~ Cat and Bones are looking forward to a normal holiday – at least as ‘normal’ as it gets for a vampire couple and their otherworldly family and friends. But the arrival of a mysterious stranger bearing the ‘gift’ of long-buried secrets threatens to shatter their yuletide cheer and take a bite out of their lives.

I am beginning to love this series. Not a bunch of romance yet, enough to keep the plot moving and with twists and turns that will keep you guessing and on your toes. Cat and Bones are once up again to mischief, well, it seems to find them and keep things interesting. Making love chained up to a wall while a demon possesses your husband may seem ‘odd’ to some yet, a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do. 😉

This novel got me to wake up early to finish it and stay up late; the chapters were a bit short, so it’s an easy read and it makes it great for this time of the year when you are baking or while waiting in line. With action and a fast paced plot the reader is reminded not only of the undying spirit of the season, but of what we are willing to sacrifice for love and for others we care about.

With her husband and some of his closest friends possessed, Cat teams up with Ian, Bone’s sire, Denise, her almost immortal demon friend, Fabian and Elisabeth (the resident ghosts) and Balchezek a demon who decides to help, for a price; it’s a dangerous combination to say the least, expect things to get complicated and more secrets to come out.

Like most holiday stories, this one has a happy ending, of sorts and you are left with a feeling of gratitude and joy.
