Short Recap ~ Three is tormented by the branding scars on her back, broken memories of her fallen creator, and the looming consequences of her secret friendship with Sychar – a male of her kind – a high crime in her world of serpentine guardians.

Then along comes Jack – the human train engineer she saves in an explosion. His touch weakens both her knees and her sense of duty. Now Three must choose between her immortal duties, her forbidden friendship, and her human lover.

With every choice comes a cost, but not every cost is hers to pay… (recap courtesy of goodreads.com)

Nola never cease to amaze me, with her ‘Vesper’ novellas.  As much as Vespers cause fear in their reader, they also show an abundance of passion and one that Nola captures and keeps the reader guessing about throughout the novella.

After helping to save Jack, Three must face her own torment and fight her own love and attraction to a man, that is basically FOOD, yet, he is also OFF LIMITS! How do love, duty, passion, torment and Vespers all come together? I don’t know, yet, Nola finds a way and keeps your reading and wanting more.

As the follow up to ‘Gilded Destiny’ we learn the fate of someone we came to love (SPOILER!?!?!?) and we also find out what happens when love and friendship are not enough.

The sceens of passion and lust between Jack and Three, kept me holding my breath as their passion took hold of them and they explored ‘forbidden’ passions.

Just like at the end of her last novel, I was hoping for more, yet, again, I was left on a cliff, wanting to know ‘What happens??’, well, like myself, you will have to wait for Nola to tell us.

With a never before read twist on the oldest story ever told, Nola, caught my attention and made me take a step back and open a book, that I see every day, yet forget to open and reacquaint myself with. After reading “Jaded Touch,” I’m sure other readers will have to do the same and it will give you a different view on that particular story and aftermath. Something that changed history and the world……
